The New Consort: EQUINOX with Elly Kace

September 25, 2025
6:00 PM - 7:00 PM
America/New_York
St. Paul's Chapel, 1160 Amsterdam Ave., New York, NY 10027

Join vocal chamber ensemble The New Consort and sound healer/Baroque-pop artist Elly Kace for EQUINOX: a 70-minute musical journey weaving together participatory sound-baths, guided meditations, and songs from a variety of choral traditions. EQUINOX builds a space for human connection and awe in this time of turmoil and uncertainty, one in which people of all faiths, or none at all, can find inspiration and peace. Let the music of Bobby McFerrin, David Lang, the Wailin’ Jennys, Thomas Tallis, and many others center and renew you…

Winners of the American Prize in Chamber Music, THE NEW CONSORT is a vocal chamber ensemble dedicated to exploring the roles that musical ritual and community can play in 21st-century lives. We bring the unique emotive power of vocal ensemble music out of its historical place in religious ceremony, using it instead to humanize the marginalized and illuminate thematic connections among creators in many genres of musical expression.

ELLY KACE (she/her/they) is a queer sound healing mystic and indie artist living in Brooklyn, NY. Her baroque-pop portals incorporate earthy vocals, sparkling sound worlds and sound medicine to conjure a new paradigm of radical self love. As a lyric soprano, she has sung around the world at venues such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center - but lately you can find her channeling sound meditation performances of her pop songs to sold out audiences in NYC and beyond.

Live at St. Paul’s Chapel — or, watch on YouTube.
