Hailed by the press as “Columbia professor by day, musical sorceress by night,” pianist and harpsichord Magdalena Baczewska is the Director of Columbia University’s Music Performance Program and Senior Lecturer in Music. In this recital, Baczewska presents harpsichord works by Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, François Couperin, and J.S. Bach.

Magdalena Baczewska (pronounced ba‑CHEV‑ska) is a Polish-American concert pianist, harpsichordist, educator, recording artist, producer, and speaker. She serves as Senior Lecturer in Music and has been the Director of the Music Performance Program at Columbia University since 2014. Her multifaceted career merges scholarship, performance, education, academic leadership and mentoring, and advocacy in music.
