Jimmy Drancsak, violin
Julian Bennett Holmes, harpsichord
Violinist Jimmy Drancsak and harpsichordist Julian Bennett Holmes present a program of Italian violin music mostly from the 1620s. This was a wild time when Italian composers broke radically free of the constraints of Renaissance counterpoint and wrote music with astonishing harmonies, wild violin playing, and a sense of joyous freedom.
